Black Work - Rosie the Riveter
$35.99
With men away fighting World War II, women were enlisted to work in factories, shipyards and every other job that needed to be performed to keep the US economy going. They proved to be just as capable as their male counterparts. The assumption that women couldn't do a man's job was doubly significant for black women. Performing these jobs well along with the organized protests of Asa Philip Randolph opened new pathways to career advancement. Sadly, in 2015 black women still haven't come as far as we should in the workplace.
